Rebecca Hancock

DVM

Dr. Hancock, a native of Ravenswood, graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. After working in equine and mixed animal practices, she purchased Jackson Animal Clinic in 2017. In her Spare time she enjoys raising American Quarter Horses, boating, and gardening.

Anne Gentry

DVM

Dr. Gentry, a West Virginia native, graduated vet school at Colorado State University in 1980; the same day she married her husband, Tom McMahon. In 1982 Dr. Gentry and her husband opened their own clinic in West Virginia. In 1987 Dr. Gentry began working at Jackson Animal Clinic, buying it in 1998. As she winds down a wonderful run as a veterinarian, she sold the practice and now works part time. This allows her to spend more time with her daughters family, complete with a young grandson, in Denver, Colorado. She recently bought a raft for Colorado river trips.

Sarah Dunaway

DVM

Dr. Dunaway, a WV native, graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Soon after, she began working at Jackson Animal Clinic as an associate veterinarian bringing a passion for small animal surgery as well as exotic medicine and surgery. Currently, her herd consists of her fiance, one white shepherd mixed breed dog, and two cats. In her spare time, she loves to trout fish, hunt with her father, kayak, and adrenaline seek at rollercoaster parks.

Sarah Burgess

Manager

Sarah grew up on a farm in Wood County. She attended Fairmont State University and received her degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been working at Jackson Animal Clinic since 2006. She resides in Wood county with her family and dogs Mavis, Jib, and Rut. When she's not working she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with friends, and family, gardening, organizing, and Pinteresting.

Brooklyn McKimmie

Registered Veterinary Technician

Brooklyn has been with Jackson Animal Clinic since May 2017. She graduated from Carver Career Center with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Her and her husband have 3 fur babies; a German Shepherd named Onyx, a Terrier mix named Cricket, and a cat named Sadie. In her spare time she loves spending time outdoors with fishing, hunting, or kayaking.

Jessica Akers

Veterinary Assistant

Jessica has been with Jackson Animal Clinic since 2013. She has always loved animals and has wanted to work with them as a career since she was younger. Jess resides in Jackson county with her three daughters and her dogs and cats. She enjoys singing and spending time with her family.

Jennifer Shabdue

Receptionist

Jennifer has been working at Jackson Animal Clinic since 2009. She graduated from Carver Career Center with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been the receptionist since 2014. She is currently living in Liberty with her menagerie of pets: dogs (Lucian, Mags, Dugan, Charlie, Macey, Boots, Zander, Heelix, Joe, Daren, Belle, Howie, Layla, Gingerbread, and Bob) cats (Zahara, Danara, Sunfish, Piranha, Momma, Turtle, Yeti, Licorice, Tryon, and Goliath), a mini Dexter heifer (Buttercup), a pony (Sophia), goats (Ellie and Mae), some chickens, ducks (Daisy and Donald), rabbits (Babs, Cochella, and Momma), and a chinchilla (Sprite). In her spare time she likes to read, hike, and spend time on her farm.

Krista has worked at Jackson Animal Clinic since June of 2014. She has always loved working with animals and has a small hobby farm overflowing with all sorts of four-legged friends. Some things she enjoys in her spare time are reading and horseback riding.

Veterinary Assistant

Caitlyn started working at Jackson Animal Clinic in 2015. She lives on a farm with 3 dogs, 6 horses, 4 dairy goats, 50 rabbits, 20 chickens, 3 ducks, and a pet pig. In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, and studying music.

Nicole Blankenship

Nicole is attending Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine and will be a graduate in 2021. She has been working at Jackson Animal Clinic during the summers since 2015. She enjoys showing her Quarter Horse, Susie, and playing with her dog, Josie.
